help, I am HURTING

I am scared.  I have had 2 pulmonary embolisms, blood clots in both lungs, pleurasy, pneumonia, and a partially collapsed lung.  Yesterday I had a horrible pain on the right side in the upper rib area where the lower part of my lung is.  My rib are and back is swollen out. The pain was so intense that it doubled me over amd I could not hardly breathe. Well today it is very sore in that area, I am also having pain when I breathe...it frustrates me when I call my dr and he sayes go to the er....I go to the er and it seems like they are not interested in helping. And I leave hurt, depressed, and in pain. I just don't know what to do any more

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The pain could be due to persisting pleuritis. The pleura, the lining of the chest cavity and lungs can get inflamed causing pain and is referred to as pleurisy. This can happen with infections like tuberculosis or pneumonia. It can also occur with other conditions like trauma to the chest or pulmonary embolism. Therapy lies in treating the underlying cause and pain killers. You can take OTC Ibuprofen pain medication. Ensure to take this medication after food to avoid gastritis. In resistant cases not responding to medications surgical therapy is recommended.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
