Tiring easily and getting lightheaded "just walking around" would not be caused by an oxygen level of 92% but the reduction could be a sign of something more serious that is causing these symptoms. If the oxygen determinations were not performed on the same oximeter, they may not be comparable. You should definitely see your doctor to have your heart and lungs checked as well as your blood pressure while lying down and standing.
The important question is what has prompted you to check your oxygen levels? Whatever that was, it may be a clue for your doctor to determine what is happening. He/she may also want to look to pulmonary emboli, which are clots to the lungs, as a cause of your symptoms.
Good luck.
Please, give the doctor a break-he's keeping up TWO forums-giving everyone FREE advice, and it's time consuming. He'll probably answer you soon.
Well, anyway, you say that your O2 saturation has dropped-this happens with emphysema and fibrosis. That's the natural progression of both diseases, and if you continue to smoke your sat's will drop even further. Why did you start smoking again?? You did great quitting for 4 months. STOP smoking and preserve the lung function that you DO have. You don't want any more damage. Preserve your lung function.
I am 52 yrs old and have smoked for35 years, I quit for 4 months but started back. I had a cat scan of chest last month. it showed moderate/severe emphysema, fibrosis and atelecstasis in right lobe. I dont know my elevation but I live in Ky.
The doctor will soon answer your question here. What is your elevation above sea level? Have you had any medical tests yet? How old are you? Have you ever smoked or do you currently smoke? Have you ever been exposed to potentially harmful chemicals or worked in a hazardous environment? You definately need to see a doctor sooner than later.
