I just recently had a CT Scan because my doctor found spots on my lungs during a x-ray. The Findings read as follows: There are a few small lymph nodes. The superior mediastinum also has a few small lymph nodes in the aorticopulmonary window; otherwise, unremarkable. Heart size is norman. There is some aploal pleural and parenchymal scarring. Some of this appears somewhat nodular particulary in teh left upper lobe posteriorly. The nodular density is best seen on image #11 where it measures 4.3mm. No significant nodularity is seen elsewhere in the lungs. The lungs are mildly hyperinflated, but I do not see any focal centrilobular diesese. Impression reads as follows: Ther are some tiny nodular densities in teh left apes. Not other definite nudularity is seen. The findings are likely benign. Otherwise, negative study. WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN? MY DOCTOR TOLD ME I SHOULD FOLLOWUP WITH ANOTHER CT SCAN IN 6 MONTHS.
Confluent means that the densities are actually merging, to form a larger density. It is usually a sign of progression of disease.
