lung scars

my friend had an x-ray taken for her medical  exam in one clinic..before they release her result for that Chest X-ray they told her that she have to have a repeat x-ray this time apicolordotic view was requested...then they told her that the result indicates that a scar was seen in her lungs...the x-ray was taken on August 9 for the CXR PA and the apicolordotic view was taken August 10,2011, she had another X-ray on Aug. 12  and it says normal lung findings,no indication of scar or whatsoever, when she called in to inquire they told her that they are using a different kind of machine...my question is does result differ in different machines? are there such as thing as an unreliable x-ray machine?...my friend is expecting to travel abroad and she came to me for answer but I am no expert in this matter

Years ago I had a roommate who was a bacteriologist. She said that samples were mixed up all the time.

Hi,

I have similar issues everytime my blood is sent to a different lab for testing.  Different lab procedures affect the out come of the results, or so my GP says.

I hope that helps you some.

God bless.

It seems to me that this sort of thing happens all the time. They found a spot or something like that on my chest x-ray. Took a second one and - nada. And how about false positive  pap smears, etc., etc., etc.?
