In that case I'm going to have administration transfer your post to respiratory forum. I don't know of antibiotics causing this but I do know many OTC meds for colds/flu can. In the meantime I'd check with a pharmacist, they often can give you insights on what is the best OTC med path to try based on symptoms or whether you should approach your physician again. If the mucus is very sticky/stringy or thick, it is important to pump lots of water to thin it. If no mucus, maybe allergy issue from spring pollen?

I'll get this tranferred, hang no and good luck!

thanks for your reply, but no I have never had POP. Coughing uncontrollable is my main concern now after getting over the flu bug. Do antibiotics sometimes cause urine retention?

Have these symptoms come on just recently after coughing or have you had problems with urine incontinence and retention prior to the coughing episode? I will need a bit more detail, please read the following post to see if you have flags for pelvic organ prolapse and then send in detail of what fits in your scenario. Sometimes medication can cause urine retention but it is also a flag for more advanced POP.

I can't advise you on the coughing issues since this is a forum for pelvic organ prolapse; if that is the primary concern, let me know and I can have our administration transfer this post to another forum.

I'll hover with additional info until you have a chance to review the other post for POP.
