MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
A number of possibilities come to mind that could account to your symptoms.  First, however, it might be helpful to look back carefully to what changes in your life or life-style might have preceded the onset of what you describe.  Potentially important changes could include causes of greater anxiety, head injury,  or the initiation of drug or supplement ingestion including herbal medications.

Your description is mostly consistent with what are called Tics.  See the following description of Tics, from a Neurology Textbook.

“Tics are the most varied of all movement disorders. Tics are brief and intermittent movements (motor tics) or sounds (phonic tics). Motor tics typically consist of sudden, abrupt, transitory, often repetitive, and coordinated movements that may resemble gestures and mimic fragments of normal behavior, vary in intensity, and repeated at irregular intervals. The movements are most often brief and jerky however, slower, more prolonged movements also occur.”

There are many, many causes of Tics, these most familiar to Neurologists.  If you have not already discussed these movements with your primary care doctor, I suggest that you do that.  If you have and he/she was unable to establish a diagnosis or cause of the movements, you should request referral to a Neurology Specialist.  It is definitely possible that these movement spells might be treatable/preventable.

Good luck
