I, too, have been suffering from a constant sore throat and phlegm for a few years now. Been to a number of internists, ENT's, allergists. Had CT scans, allergy tests, throat cultures, etc. Was put on a number of antibiotics, acid reflux meds, antihistamines, steroid sprays and more. He did an endoscopy and placed some sensors that monitored how much acid was coming up. I wore a monitor for about two days. He says the acid level was extremely high and probably the cause of the sore throat and mucous. I told him that I had tried reflux meds, but that they hadn't helped. He said that I needed to stay on a drug like prilosec for as long as 6 months, and take it twice a day 1/2 hour before breakfast and dinner. I have been on it for almost a month now, and cannot yet see a big difference. Will let you know how things progress. good luck!
