I too am experiencing pain in my upper back near or just below my left sholder blade.  The pain is most severe when I am looking over my right sholder, and raising my left arm (when backing up in my car).  Any suggestions?

Yes, this does sound like a pinched nerve, causing both shoulder and chest pain.  You should see your doctor for this.  You will probably need an x-ray of your cervical spine.  Since it shouldn't be assumed that your shoulder pain and chest pain have the same cause, you should also have a chest x-ray.

I have a pain in my shoulder blade also! Right shoulder blade...when i raise my arm a certain way or pick something up..it feels like  it knocks my breath out..makes it difficult to breath..i've had this problem for a few years i was thinking it was a pinched nerve. do pinched nerves require surgery? if now how do i get rid of it..why would a pinched nerve feel like it's taking my breath out?
