recovering from post-op laryngospasm

I had arthroscopic knee surgery a week ago and had general anesthesia.  Before being wheeled into recovery, I had a laryngospasm.  I needed to be intubated and my throat was very irriated for several days after and I developed a cough.  It has now been a week and my throat is still sore, and at times it is hard for me to get a good, deep breath.  Is this normal after having a laryngospasm?  If it continues for another week, I do plan to see my doctor.
