sinus drainage?

Hello,

Several years ago, I suffered two very intense sinus infections, which involved a lot of constant, heavy postnasal drip.  At one point, I started to feel a physical sensation of dripping from the back of my head draining into my right shoulder, then later through my back and legs.  I called the doctor about this, who said that this was physically impossible with sinus drainage.  Unfortunately, although my sinus infection cleared up, the postnasal drip, as well as the feeling of draining into other parts of my body continued.  I was very reticent to ask a doctor about this, because I know it sounds crazy!

This problem has now progressed to the point that it is making  miserable.  I know have a sensation of fluid running down from behind my ears into my chest... I hear a frequent draining sound in my lower chest and stomach, my chest has a very "full" feeling, and I experience periods where it feels like my heart is pounding.  The last two weeks have been terrible - I also have had hives on my legs and arms, and a skin problem (like eczema) that won't go away.  I also feel draining through my back and legs.

I worry that if I present this to my doctor, it will seem that I have some sort of anxiety disorder.  Oh that it were so, but these conditions have persisted for a while, independent of my emotional state.  i'm not sure how wise it is to take this problem to a doctor when I will be switching to a new insurance and possibly new doctor in June - yet this is bothering me so much I'm considering going to the ER.

Help!! I can't stand this!!

I agree with NJC on this. Never assume how a doctor will react when you descrive such things despite how odd they may seem.

As far as putting urin in your nostrils...I do not recommend this. Urine therapy has been proven NOT to be benificial in any way...but what ever floats yer boat. (Ewwww!)

One thing I would try with a chronic sinusitis is putting a few drops of my first urine of the morning in my nostrils till they reach my frontal sinuses.

Unfortunately, you will need to see a doctor to help you sort out these problems.  It is easy to understand how chronic sinus infections cause throat and chest problems.  Beyond the respiratory tract, it is very difficult to understand what is going on.  A doctor will need to do a good examination and perhaps some tests.
