hey thanks for your answer...i really appreciate it..but the thing is ..i've had the test done...and instead of an improvement..my results were worse after the inhaler...i dont think i am allergic to albuterol as i have been taking it through a nebulizer on bad days...and it helps to an extent..another thing..is it possible for me to have COPD?? all the research i have done online suggests its usually found in people above 35...im 20 years old and i had been smoking for the past 4-5 years max..
There are many things that could be going on. Your doctor should order a PFT with DLCO. If no improvement after inhaler, then usually there is no asthma component, the higher the improvement, the higher the asthma component. Some people are allergic to the ingredients in albuterol, this may be a possibility, therefore causing more labored breathing.
Did you have a CT scan? With COPD, staying away from anyone with a cold is imperative and cleansing hands constantly and wiping down grocery carts, etc.
