After 2 Antibiotics

Hello Dr... Just wanted to say thank you.. I do have a question for you?

Recently, I was on a business trip and after working for 3 days a bunch of us got together and ended up drinking and wound up at a gentleman's club.  One thing led to another and I ended up having protected sex with a young lady....
Got back from my trip and from the moment I came off the plane I experienced an upset stomach... Woke up the next morning and had stomach pains and a moderate burning sensation when I urinated. The NP (Nurse Proctor) saw me the next morning and did a urine test for Chlamydia... and gave me 3 days of Cipro. Cipro did the trick but I ended up feeling not quite over it and called my doctor.. Who made me go for another urine test (which came back normal) but did put me on 7 Days of Augementin @ 875MG. I've felt great but towards the end of the augmentin I did get a wierd uncomfortable feeling towards the end of the medicine. Since coming off I feel great but just a little  sore in my gential area and my low back feels very very sore.

Why did they change my meds if the Cipro (500 MG) was working? Didn't get that?

I never really got a diagnosis to be honest... Just felt ALOT better over time....

Could it have been a UTI or STD?

Thank you in advance,

Hi and welcome. You had protected sex and condoms are very effective in preventing the spreading of STD,s. So contracting them is out of the equation. your upset stomach is from parting and flying. They gave you cipro as kills 99% of stomach bacteria so the they treated you for a stomach viris not STD's. not sure about the other one or why they switched. No testing means no knowing. Its for sure not STD related.
But if you have a loved one that you want protected have testing for non std,s like herpes and syhlis only as a precaution only as you were a low risk for those only.
Not sure why they want you to see a urlogist with symptoms of an upset stomach but cipro can cause anyone to feel strange as is very powerful.
