At risk for hiv or stds

Hi,

I am a 25 yr old white male living in manhattan. Im going for a HIV blood test and urine sample for other exams next week. Im really worried about what results it will show. I would say that in 2.5 years I have had sex without a condom with 3 women. Overall the number is around 6 women without protection in 8 years. I have never had any symptoms. I know that symptoms dont show for a while. The only real symptoms is I get night sweats, but that only started when i got my air conditioner for some reason  The last time I had sex without a condom was the first week of May. One of the women I slept  with w/o a condom was scottish and she was a lesbian. That was a little over 2 years ago. I want to know if I should be extremely worried, and how at risk am I?

Yes, for a male.  If you are female, the chances are higher.

Could you clarify that?  Are you saying that having unprotected sex with a partner having HIV will result in only a 1/1000 or 1/2000 chance of contracting the virus?

I wouldn't be worried at all, unless your partners have been sleeping with men who also have sex with men, or if they inject drugs or have had partners who do.

Even if one of your partners does have HIV, your chances of getting it are 1/1000 or 1/2000.  Its not likely at all that you would get it.
