Azithromycin and Gonorrhea treatment

Hi,

My partner was given Chlamydia treatment last week and I was told I should take the same so I did (1g Azithromycin). The tests aren't actually back until the end of this week and I am concerned that it is actually Gonorrhea as I am sometimes itchy externally and was a little itchy internally but caneston relieved that for a while. My bum is also occasionally itchy but preparation has helped relieve that. I also had more pains that usual during my last period and have had slight abdominal pain. The chemist that treated me last time also does a Gonorrhea treatment but they insist on having the 1g Azithromycin for chlamydia. Will I be ok not to take this?

His symptoms are scant clear discharge, a slight redness/swelling around the tip of the penis (just the opening) and a more frequent need to urinate.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am goingt o wait on his results to know rule it out for sure. I have already taken then 1g Azithromycin for chlamydia, I was hoping not to have to take it again as I was rather ill from it.

Hi, i would not be concerned about Gono as is very different symptoms than chlamydia. With gono would be much more than itching inside your urethra but a big time burning and the discharge would be white not clear. If your doc said take the antibiotics then i would take his advise. Cant hurt you.
