Bumps on Gums

I've had some small whitish bumps that are pretty flat against the gums. In addition, my tongue has a white coating. (Nothing to unusual about it.) I had oral sex about 8 weeks ago. They showed up about 2-3 weeks later. The doctor does not seem to be to concerned about it but it is really making me worried if it is HIV. I keep reading that HIV is very highly unlikely to be transmitted via oral sex but everywhere else I read that you REALLY need to be tested for it. What else can it be?

Did you give or receive oral sex?  If you received it, your infection would be genital, and if you received oral, there is NO risk of HIV.  HIV also wouldn't be giving you symptoms nearly this fast.

has anyone cultured these pimples and tested them to see if a bacteria is causing this?  If they haven't, they should.  You should post in the dermatology forum.  No std would cause symptoms like yours.
