Concerned about symptoms after treatment.

I am a 19 year old homosexual male.  On June 16, I had unprotected sex with my (at the time) boyfriend.  within a couple of days I developed painful urination and massive amounts of discharge.  I asked him if he was recently infected with an std and he said he had had gonorrhea about a year before we started dating and was treated with an injection.  I went to my primary physician as soon as i could.  He had me tested for several std's and put me on 10 days worth of an anti-biotic that i had to take every 12 hours and had to be careful what and when i ate while i was on it.  A few days latter I was contacted my my physician where i was informed that the tests were inconclusive but was instructed to finish the anti-biotic anyway.  I followed the directs for the medication as exactly as i could.  When I finished the antibiotics, I was experiencing no symptoms and was feeling better.  Since then I have had no intercourse but some symptoms are starting to return.  I am starting to have the painful urination, sensitivity in my penis, specifically around the urethra, and I am starting to notice small amounts of what i have to call discharge on my underwear around where my penis rests.
What should i do? should i return to my primary physician or should i go see a different physician?  Could this still be an std that i had been treated for previously?

Problem is NGU or chlamydia symptoms don't start after only 2 days and don't usually cause "massive discharge", but these are typical for gonorrhea.  And doxy isn't good against gonorrhea.  Get checked ASAP.

Meant to say that pills only is an atypical treatment for gonorrhea.  If it was doxycycline, it was fine for chlamydia or nongonococcal urethritis.

Regardless of the "inconclusive" tests, your symptoms were typical for gonorrhea.  Your partner probably had a new partner -- it's very unlikely he carried gon or any other STD for a whole year.  Whatever it is or was, it sounds like it wasn't completely cured.  Your treatment (pills only) was atypical, and it's possible your doc isnt up to speed on STD's.  Consider an STD or other expert clinic, like Planned Parenthood.
