If you had an NSU that was contractable, took meds but did not get rid of it and had unprotected vaginal sex then it could be passed to the receiver (could).
These Mycoplasms are a group of very small bacteria lacking a cell wall making them unaffected to many common antibiotics which target cell walls. You could be passing this back and forth to eachother if the timing and testing and treatments are not being coordinated.
My query above was "I asked was my partner exposed to Mycoplasma after the initial zithromax "failed" when I had unprotected oral with her. He said no. Would this be correct?"
I think your reply was "The clinic is correct in you giving it to your partner from your encounter but again a low risk from your normal flora." This doesn't seem to tally up with what the clinic said. Can you clarify again please in relation to this. Are you referring just to normal flora as opposed to Mycoplasma Genitalium?
All the tests were carried out correctly (swabs & urine taken. Urine held overnight or >4hrs). The NSU has recurred in times even when there was no sex with regular partner.
The urologist also stated that prostatitis isn't caused by an sti so mycoplasma getting into the prostate wouldn't be an issue I would have thought?
I have never been diagnosed with Mycoplasma Genitalium but Trich, Gono, Chlym has been ruled out so I am concentrating on bugs that could be a possible cause. Is MYcoplasma Genitalium a dangerous bug?
I think I have always had some symptoms (pain on passing urine) even prior to any sexual encounters due to tight foreskin and not drinking enough fluids.
Some times NSU,s are a little tricky to get rid of and take a few trips to the doctor to get to the bottom of as you just experienced. Unprotected oral is low risk but possible to contract NSU
1. It is possible that you recaught NSU from your partner as mouth flora can cause this. The clinic is correct in you giving it to your partner from your encounter but again a low risk from your normal flora.
2. If you were tested in the proper times for STI,s and tested negative, and were done correctly, eg. via swab or urine test, they are conclusive its not an STI.
3. Yes NSU can cause prostritus with mycoplasma.
4. Reoccuring NSU is not symptom of herpes
5.If you tested negative and dont have any symptoms and your partner also then there is nothing to transmit.
Are you having symptoms now?
I was tested for Chlamydia, Gonn, Trich, Syphilis, HIV, Hep and they were all negative from the very outset. The only thing that showed up was NSU which cleared up but still recurred a number of times as explained in my first post. I wasn't tested for Herpes (HSV2). I have had cold sores since childhood though. With regards symptoms it is difficult to say what is anxiety related and what is not.
If you tested negative and were given the ok by the doctor then theres no NSU to transmitt. And if your not having symptoms like urethra discomfort and/or burning while urinating. Were you tested for all sts including gono, chlamydia, syphilis and herpes?
