Constant itch no rash

I am a 23 year old male my girlfriend and I have been together for three years.  When we started dating dating she said she had tested clear of all STDs and she recently went away for two months to europe for a summer trip.  I have only masturbated by myself since she has been gone and she has been back for about a month now.

About 10 days ago I started getting an itch in my groin area.  I thought it was jock itch since I go to the gym with my roommate alot and on occasion we have shared a towel after the shower because one of us forgot ours or something.  The only thing that bothered me was that there was no real rash and my experience with jock itch is that there is usually a rash.  The itching was localized, for the most part, to the shaft and base of the shaft of my penis as well as the tip and head of my penis.  I started to worry a few days ago when i got cold and hot sensations on the head of my penis so i went to see my doctor.  I explained the symptoms and he noticed a skin bump so he said it might be mollusc and prescribed an antibiotic.  Its been a few days now and I have not noticed any white core or anything to that bump and I have no other bumps either.  I have no lesions and no visible rash or burning during urination but the itching is still there and is still in the same areas and it still feels kind of like icy hot has been rubbed on the head of my penis too at the tip which seems really odd to me.  The doctor said he did not think it was an STI but he also did not run tests either.  It just does not seem like jock itch to me so i wanted to get a second opinion.  I have no idea at this point.  I have read alot of websites about STDs and I dont have any of the truly standout symptions I also dont think my girlfriend would do that to me while she was away.  At this point i'm not sure what to think and if it is something that she did not give me that I got from my roommate i do not wan to pass it to her.

Any help is welcome thank you.

The burning is intense enough to make you not want to go to the bathroom.

The itching makes me think bacterial or fungial. Yes something bacterial or fungial could be causing the itching inside and without anything else.

If you have not had a urinalysis done it might be a good idea to have it done and the Dr might be able to find some forign bacteria.

oh. i did not know that the doctors did not post here.  Thank you vance.

Since you are reading this posts quite often and seem to be well read on STD information let me ask you this:  The irritation / itching at the tip of the penis has gotten a little more intense as the days go by.  Its not a "burning" sensation as in it is not painful but it is more of a constant dull itching / pressure.  I suppose the best way i could describe it is that it feels almost like maybe the urethral opening is a little swollen or something although it does not look swollen or discolored or out of the ordinary.

The burning your speak of, is it normally intense "OH MY GOD IT BURNS!" type of pain or is it more like a "what was that?" type of burn?

The itching at the base of the penis and on the shaft around the foreskin ring area has me thinking maybe it is bacteria related?  Maybe some sort of bacteria might be causing the irritation and a little got inside the urethra and is causing discomfort/itching/irritation without any discharge?  Its only right at the tip and maybe 1cm inside down the urethral opening that i'm feeling the discomfort.

I've read that its possible to have normal reactions to that sort of thing that would not be STD related but could be passed during sex.  Such as bacterial buildup in the mouth or a yeast infection or something like that.

What are your thoughts? anything?  Again thanks vance.

The Dr's do not post in this forum, they have a seperate forum where you have to pay money to ask a question.

Just an FYI with gonorrhea...90% of men will get discharge and/or buring while urinating.

True.  I have done a fair bit of research on this as it seems like an odd combination of symptoms.  There are no real "give away" symptoms of any kind which is why i'm posting here.  Burning while urinating and discharge are definatly big indicators of gonorrhea but from what I can tell it doesn't necessarily mean that the absence of these symptons is ironclad evidence that one doesn't have it.

I guess i'm just confused and worried.  I would really appreciate an expert's comment (not to discount your input vance2335 i thank you for your help too but so far i have read the net so i'm aware of the more normal syptoms)

Gonorrhea symptoms are burning while urinating and discharge. I see nothing in your post about that.

Doesn't sound like ghonnorea? I was just reading info about that.

My girlfriend and I have alot of oral which is all unprotected oral and I do have tip of penis irritation although i do not have any discharge or anything.  I do feel tired alot too but that could be from the antibiotic i dunno

Not STD related my guess is. You can try to follow up with your Dr.

I forgot to say something about the skin bump.  I am not sure if it was there already or not.  It is not a very big bump or anything and it could just be part of my foreskin.  It does not really look anything like the genital wart pictures i have seen and you can't really even see it unless you know what to look for but when you are looking for things then things tend to stand out you know?  It could be nothing although it does itch now on occasion but I did squeeze it really hard trying to pop it so im not sure if that maybe set off it itching or something.

Maybe it could be pubic lice or something too i dont know.
