Just back from the doctor

I just returned from my urologist.  I have one kidney so every year I go for a check up.  I give him a specimen of my urine and he examines it under a microscope.  He said that I had pus cells is my urine and checked it for tumors, cancers kidney stones and he said it is none of these.  He asked me if I have been sexually active and I said yes.  I said I had sex with a female in July and 2 days after that I had burning when I urinated.  This lasted 3 weeks and then stopped in mid August.  Since then I have had no burning at all and no other signs of what in my mind I am thinking could be gonnorhea or chlamydia or trich.  I am nervous I may have gotten one of these from this girl i had sex with over the summer.  My urologist told me I would still have burning though if this was gonnorhea.  He gave me Cipro. 500 mg to take once a night for five nights.  He sent my urine out for a culture test and I will get the results Thursday.  I am returning to my urologist of Tuesday to check if the irritation is gone.  If anyone has any insight on this topic please respond, it would mean a lot I am very nervous.

It could be prostatitis, NGU with a non-sexual cause, etc.  Your tests will answer most of these questions.

Cipro might cure an std, but its not the preferred treatment for any of them.

Alright thank you for your response.  If this is an std do you believe cipro 500 mg's for 5 nights will get rid of the infection.  Also ever since I had this burning in August when I have ejaculated my sperm is more watery than milky white like it used to be.  WHat could this have been from?  and what else could I have if this is not an std.?

I agree with your doc - if this was an std, your symptoms wouldn't have gone away if you still had the infection.

All you can do is wait for the results, unfortunately.
