Discharge does not clear up

I found out in mid June that I had a penile discharge. It started out cloudy, with itchiness and a slight burning sensation. I went to the doctor and got some antibiotics it showed signs of clearing up until about two days after the medication was finished. I went back and got a repeat of the medication and it got only to a clear fluid, mostly seen in the early mornings. I went to see another doctor, who told me this could be a normal sign to see in the morning, being a man. However he gave me some more antibiotics. About 7 days after those were completed, I started to see signs again. Two days after the signs reoccur, the discharge was thick and yellow. I was very concern about this and so I went to see another doctor. He gave me 10 Ciprofloxacin 500mg (to take one every twelve hours) and said I should see signs of improvement within a day or two. After two days the discharge lost its yellow, thick state to a more clear and watery fluid. I am now on my 6th Cipro 500mg, but I woke up this morning, only to see a cloudy fluid again. I am also feeling a slight burning after urination. Is it that the bacterium has become immune to the drug? Will I need to get more Cipro or another drug to combat this infection? Since Cipro is a broad spectrum drug, if the bacterium becomes immune to it, can it still be cured? What are your suggestions?

I am eagerly anticipating your response.

Thanks in advance...

Just for your information, there are increasing numbers of gonorrhea strains resistent to cipro. And Azithromycin is more effective for treating Chlamydia. You need testing and treatment with the best antibiotic. I think you are having treatment failure with cipro. Please discuss this again with your doctor.

Follow my suggestion because just throwing medication at a problem does not mean it will get cured because you could be getting the wrong medication or wrong dosage. Testing should be done and you should wait at least 2 weeks since last pill taken so it is out of your system and does not cause a false negative.

None of the doctors did any testing. They just looked and saw the discharge.

It was unprotected vaginal/oral sex that I have been exposed to.

Hi\

It usally helps us to know your potentional exposures (Was it Unprotected/protected and vaginal/anal/oral sex?)

We do not give antibiotics/medication advice that you are seeking.

A suggestion is:
Ask your doctors your questions because it is they who are perscribing your meds and why.  You mention no test results, if you did have an exposure, I hope the doctor did STD testing at your first visit.

You need to stop with all of this medication. Stop for 2 weeks and then see 1 Dr for some testing. Just thorwing medication at something and seeing several Dr's is not doing you any good.
