Epididymitis

I have had Epididymitis since around November 2006.  Docs tested me for everything, no STD's present, couldnt tell you all of the other tests....but small cyst was found on head of epididymis which Doc thought was not cause of pain.  Initial pain came on after unprotected anal sex with my girlfriend....and I have been researching this to no avail lately as pain has set in again.  I know I was treated for STD's while waiting for the test results to come in....but not sure if I was treated for coliform bacteria such as E. Coli.  Which leads me to my question.....if I wasnt treated for it, is it possible to still have a high amount of coliform bacteria in my epididymis which is causing the pain?  I never informed my Docs about the anal sex.  Stupid decision now that I look back on it....wish I could rid myself of this.  I cant tell you all the drugs I have taken thus far, but I know Ciproflaxacin for a month which didnt do a thing for me.  Hopefully I covered it...

The CDC recommended treatment for this is Ofloxacin 300 mg orally twice a day for 10 days OR Levofloxacin 500 mg orally once daily for 10 days.  http://www.cdc.gov/std/treatment/2006/epididymitis.htm

Those can cure chlamydia and gonorrhea, as well.

I took Cipro and Azithromax, as well as a shot that the Nurse said would take care of Gonorrhea if I had it....which I didnt.  Are there any Meds that would take care of Chlamydia, Gonnorhea as well as E. Coli?  I could dig through my medical records and try to come up with something....  I am just afraid, after 18 months of it now, that it will cause permanent damage other than just pain.

It depends on what meds you took if it will get rid of the e coli.

Have they tested your sperm for anything?

I'm always leery of docs saying that something shouldn't be causing pain.  I would done 1 of 2 things, or both, really.

Maybe find a new doc, and let the doc know about the anal sex.  You might need a different antibiotic.
