Gardnerella

i am a 26 year old male, i had unprotected sex about 6 months ago with a girl i dont see anymore. over the next weeks i noticed that there were little red spots on my glans, and as it got worse i went to see my doctor. i got tested for STDs and everything came out negative.he diagnosed candidiasis he prescribed clyndamicine which made the infection go away but i kept having a burning and stinging sensation in my testicles, perine, and glans, i went to see my doctor again he prescribed me metronidazole thinking that it might be trichomoniasis, i took the meds for over 20 days with no result, after that i got tested again but this time he did cultures for both urine and urethral fluids, the result showed a bacteria, Enterobacter sp, he prescribed me ciprofloxacyn, which i took for 15 days, and sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim which i also took for another 15 days, and still i didnt get better. i went to see another doctor for a second opinion and he told me it was gardnerella because there was an odor like athletes feet on my penis. i am currently taking secnidazole 2 g per day, and will be taking ketorolac 1 g per day,

as i was reading the forums, some of the doctors say that gardnerella is not responsible for this condition, i am really desperate because everything i to try seems futile. could anyone tell me if im in the right path?

thanks

After all those antibiotics, you are probably super-infected with candida overgrowth.
I would ask for Fluconazole, then repeat in one week.
FYI-
My wife had a recurrent problem with Gardnerella and when she became a nurse practitioner and started working in Family Planning/OB/Gyn, she gave me a 10day 3xday treatment of Metronidazole while she did her 1 week 2xday after much research.  And viola!  She has never had a recurrence 15 years later.
Bacteria need a host to reproduce and they need to be passed from organism to organism to continue to survive in this world.  Also, we know Gardnerella can cause premature rupture of the amniotic membrane in pregnant women and it is also cultured from men with prostatitis....ie. it is pathogenic.  Mark my words, someday the medical community will catch on that the organism we treat for in PID, need to be treated for in the partner.

I think you are on the right path. I know it can be frustrating, but right now your Dr(s) are the best people for you since they have tested you and examined you.
