My daughter was diagnosed with genital warts 3 months ago, but her HPV test came back negative. At the time the three small "warts" were noticed in her genital area, she also had several bumps in the inside of her thighs that we were told were caused by shaving the area. So these things occurred together, but were diagnosed as two different things. The three "warts" were frozen off and have not returned, and every bump has disappeared. The HPV test was negative. Is it likely that the "warts" were misdiagnosed? Is it likely that if they were genital warts, that her body has successfully fought this virus, and it's not in her system?
She is very concerned about spreading the virus in the future, and really needs to know what her health status is currently. We have not been able to get a definitive answer from our doctor.
