Hello,
I would like to get another opinion on my situation. I know that the details don't really matter, but I would like to share a little bit of my story.
So, recently, I hooked up with this guy for about 5 days straight. I had not had sex with anyone for about 7 months until this guy. He said he hadn't been with anyone for 3 months. But, he seemed like the type to sleep around. We were attracted to eachother and ended up having unprotected sex that same night we met. (We didn't have condoms and I decided to take a chance on him)
Well, during kissing, my mouth became very dry. The next morning, I saw that he had a half pea sized lump on his penis an inch or two from his testicles. It was light colored and looked dry and painless. I also noticed scars on the inside of his thighs next to his testicles that looked like burn scars.
Anyway, a few days later, I noticed I had greenish, bloody discharge with a bad smell and I went to the doctor. I was treated with antibiotics for gonorrhea and chlamydia. I also had a sore throat and told the doctor about it. She said it was possible to get gonorrhea in the mouth. (I did have unprotected oral sex with him as well) I was told about my results two days later and learned I had gardnerella and that the antibiotics they gave me should have cleared it up. (They said everything was negative except for gardnerella) Three days later, I looked at my throat with a flashlight because it felt swollen and sore. I was shocked to see that my throat and tonsils had large amounts of white/yellow colored cottage cheese looking stuff there. So, I went to a different doctor to try to find out what it was, but she didn't even take a sample or culture of my throat. She was rude to me and acted like I shouldn't be complaining because I had made my own choice. She said she didn't consider gardnerella to be sexually contracted, but I know in my heart it was. I had never had anything like that before. She did prescribe something else for the gardnerella. So, I have been on antibiotics for 2-3 days now. I am still worried because I still have bloody discharge (but not smelly or odd colored) and my urine seems dark (almost orange). I also feel bloated and have mild cramping. (My period is not due for 2-3 weeks) For some reason, my hands and feet have been falling asleep here and there. The stuff in my throat looks a little better, though.
I know this doesn't matter, but I wanted to add that the guy I had sex with seemed happy and healthy, but he did talk about how some girls smelled bad and he said I looked healthy as if he was suprised. He also took asprin a lot and acted like he really needed it. I assumed he had sore muscles from work. He came to town with no family and said he couldn't go back, but didn't explain why. He has been in prison, but didn't explain that either. He disappeared, basically when I told him I had stomach cramps. I realized he was a liar and didn't bother asking him questions because he would lie anyway, so I left him alone. Now, I am sitting here hoping I didn't expose myself to HIV.
So, I was tested about 10 days after the first sexual encounter. It's been 1 week since I was tested.
This morning, I woke up with a lot of pain deep in my throat. I was dreaming I was in the ER looking for my doctor.
My questions are:
Could garderella get in my throat?
Does it sound like I had gonorrhea in my throat but not in my vagina?
Does either one make urine darker?
Can I expect the cramping and bloating to go away soon?
I was given a blood test when tested... does this clear me from everything except HIV?
And should I be worried about HIV?
I just want to add that I am so thankful for the helpful doctors out there (and antibiotics!) and I hope that people try more to educate their children and the public about STDs because it's really sad the way this happens to people! It sure changed my way of thinking and definately changed my opinion about condoms!!! I have a child and I hope this never happens to him!
