Gonorrhea Symptoms persistent after treatment

Hello, I had gonorrehea like sypmtoms on Nov. 10. I tested positive and received treatement on nov 12th for  gonorrhea, all other results from the culture were negative for other stds and in my mouth. I got a shot of ceftriaxone (I think) and 7 days worth of doxycycline twice a day, I'm not sure of the dosage. The symptoms went away, I felt fine, everything seemed to be back to normal. Then on Nov. 30th I began having sysmptoms, discharge and slight burning, exactly like I had before i got treated. I have not had sex of any kind since late october, so i certainly didnt reinfect myself. I called the clinic that treated me and the nurse said, what we gave you killed the gonorrehea and she told me to "push water" and wait till 30days is up before i came back for any kind of testing. So my questions are 1. how long does it take for symptoms to subside? 2. I read there are strains of ghonorrhea that are immune to traditional treatments, when should i start to worry i may have never been cured in the first place? Please any help would be greatly appreciated, as this isnt something i want to be 99% sure is gone, i have to be 100% before i can get back to my life.

1. Water helps clear the system, so it can't hurt.
2. I would just for piece of mind.

Thank you very much Vance. I truly appreciate your time. Yeah, it's weird my symptoms were gone, literally the day after treatment. I'm a male and although rare, I guess I could have gotten a yeast infection (lovely). I can't get back to the Dr. for 2weeks.

1.Should I continue to keep drinking massive amounts of water?
2.What if things clear up, should I still go back for retesting?

Chances are I'll go back to be 100% sure I'm clean, even though the first time there was by far the most uncomfortable experience of my life.

1. Well it seems like you might have another infection...maybe yeast from the medication. Symptoms from gonorrhea often stop within days of treatement.

2. I can't say because if your strain was resistant then symptoms probably would not have been gone for the couple of weeks.

I would follow up with your Dr now for retesting to be sure and to see what you might have.
