Gonorrhea

Hello All,

Stupidly gave and received oral with an escort.

I have had no symptoms at all however a few days after having oral sex and penatrative sex with my wife which was around 2 weeks after the encounter she has developed symptoms such as pain when urinatting. she thinks it is cystitus but i am worried.

We did use a condom for the pen sex however before the condom i did insert it into her vagina once prior to putting on the condom

my concern is gonnarea however even if i did have it with no symptoms would it be possible to pass it on to her through that quick insertion with no symtoms or discharge from me

my wife didnt give me oral

any advice appreciated.

So I have done a bit of research myself on this..

0.08 (or 8%) probability of infection from passing from throat to penis when fellatio is received

21000 cases of gonnoorhea in 2019 in the UK in females out of 66m people, estimate 20% of these would be oral therefore 4200 cases in the UK overall in given year of oral gono, i know CSW are higher risk but it would be very unlucky to get one of the 4200

Probability of having gono as per the expert docs on this forum for a man without symptoms is less that 0.01 (or 1%) - I have no symptoms

The probability of me passing it to my wife, where there is not discharge on penis with one insertion has to be pretty low, say 0.25 (25%) as a guestimate probably even less likely although i really am now sure on this point ?

With this in mind i would hope her symptoms are indeed cystitus as they have gone in a few days also and i would have to be extremely unlucky for this to be any other outcome.

Auntiejessie or any other people with knowledge would you agree with the above?

I have ordered a test and i sincerely hope it will be neg. i have been stressing about this considerably.

its the only escort i have seen in well over a year, I said i wouldnt do it again but the little brain got the better of me - i think maybe i need some therapy from somewhere to stop this happening again but this is another issue i need to address.

I don't know the stats from the UK, but they sound about right. Oral sex is lower risk than penetrative sex, and oral gonorrhea is far less common than vaginal or urethral gonorrhea.

Most experts don't feel that one exposure from oral sex warrants testing.

Cystitis is very common, especially in women.

I think if you think you need therapy, you probably do. I also think that therapy is always a good idea if you continue to do things that aren't good for you. Lots of places are doing this online now, so check that out as an option, too.

The chances that your wife has cystitis is much higher than it being gonorrhea or chlamydia or any other STD.

The likelihood of transmission from one quick insertion is very, very slim. I wouldn't worry about that. However, you can get gonorrhea and less frequently, chlamydia, from oral sex, and it doesn't sound like you used a condom for that.

You don't have to have any symptoms to transmit gonorrhea or chlamydia, so testing might be a good idea just to rule it out.

Oral sex has lower transmission rates than penetrative sex, but there is still a chance. Since it sounds like a few weeks or so since the encounter, you can test now. Gonorrhea and chlamydia show up on tests at 3-5 days after infection.

Let us know what happens.

Hi thanks for your reply.

I thought giving cunnilingus was extremely low risk to pass this on ?

Also do u think i would have to have discharge to pass it in to her

Thanks

She didn't perform oral on me
Oh you said "Stupidly gave and received oral with an escort."

If all you did was give oral, and had condom-protected sex, then no, you have risk for gonorrhea or chlamydia, or anything that could pass on to your wife. Cunnilingus is very low risk for STDs, as nothing is physically in the throat as it is when you perform oral on someone with a man.

You don't need a discharge or any other symptoms to transmit any STD except syphilis. It doesn't matter so much here because you didn't have any real risk.

I bet your wife just has a UTI (cystitis).

Sorry it was me that wasnt clear.

With the escort it was giving and receiving oral and protected sex.

With my wife it was just giving oral and protected sex apart from the quick insertion

Does this alter your opinion at all in terms of the possibility of me infecting my wife.

I haven't had a single symptom so chances are i beleive im not infected anyway.

From what u have said oral gonorrhoea is ruled out.

Chance i could have got it from receiving oral from the escort however you said passing it would be slim from just a quick insertion.

Really appreciate you opinion and help
