I'd doubt this is shingles, but if she wants to think of it as shingles, what difference does it make?  Acyclovir is used for herpes and shingles.

My sister in her 50s has had herpes zoster in the area of sacral vertebrate and cheek of gluteus area everytime she stresses emotionally.  About twenty five years ago the doc (infectious disease MD) gave her a RX for Acyclovir.  She has been on this mediciane since.  Lately she has had sites on her side and hip area which I told her is shingles but she said her reoccurence of this Zoster has been chronic.  Is this true or could she be treating something totally other than zoster.  I have never heard of anyone suffering twenty five plus years......  shouldnt she be immune by now.??  She also has chronic sinusitis and is always on antibiotics which may inadvertantly be affecting her immune rsponse.

Have you ever had a herpes blood test to see what your own status is?

If it was more than 24 hours between when he performed oral sex on you and the appearance of his cold sore it's fairly low risk. If you have hsv1 yourself, whether you get obvious cold sores or not, there's little risk at all.
