Hello,

On March the 3rd, I had un-protected ( not the entire time but rubbing brief 40 sec intercourse ) vaginal/oral with a partner. Ridiculously irresponsible. The sex was dry and awkward the entire time. For 90% of it I had a condom on. I felt a tiny burning sensation afterwards and for a few days after when I had to urinate.

I went to the doctor  6 days later and submitted a urine sample to test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Nothing...In th clear. That same day I started to notice the corners of my mouth changing color to brown ( I'm african-american ). With miniature bumps in the corners. I don't ever recall ever having anything like this before. SO it freaked me out.

On Tuesday of this week, I had to go out of town for a few days to phoenix. I was definitely stressing out at this point. And I have an anxiety issue. Every day I was searching for answers to my symptoms. By the way, I should point out that the bumps or corners of my mouth is painless.

So I'm in phoenix. All 3 nights I woke up in a sweat. I was able to sleep afterwards. but after it happened the first night, It freaked me out more. On the last night, I started to feel dry mouth. I also noticed red bumps in he back of my tongue. The flight back home from phoenix, the dry mouth was intense...I had to drink water or else.

When I got back to town, I went to the doctor ( this was yesterday the 16th of march ). I told her everything. She said the bumps were circumvalate papillae. She thought I was overreacting but offered to do a blood test. So I did. Of course, I think it's HIV. I've only had a few symptoms, but I've been stressing this out.

Last night, my sore throat went away, I had a bit more ( not a lot ) saliva flowing, and I was able to sleep without waking up in a sweat. My lips are still sticky, and mouth is still dry. But I feel a bit better.

Does anything above sound like possible HIV to you? Or stress  related symptoms. It hasn't even been a full two weeks since the night of sex. But I'm freaking out. I should also point out, that I'm pretty healthy. I take a multi. I normally eat 5-6 times a day. Yada, yada, yada. Help Please!

One more thing...So I've tested negative at 13 weeks for hiv and positive for hep c. Could my hiv positive be delayed because of hep c?

So I did another blood test ( 3 months officially ) and it turns out I have Hepatitis C. They conducted another blood test today for confirmation.

Thanks for all of your help...

Hi Grace,

I hope you're right. I'm lost in regards to the next step. I've never been to counseling in my life. It actually works? I can't imagine a private conversation
helping. But I'm going to try it next week. I also developed a canker sore inside the bottom of my lip yesterday. I know...not a sign. I wish someone would send me one rather quickly!

none of these are std symptoms.

you already have posted about this on the hiv expert forum too. keep rereading their replies to you until you believe them!!

follow up on your anxiety with a counselor if you aren't able to control it on your own.

So I'm at the week 8 mark. things have been the same. Dry mouth/tongue, and eyes. I have to go to bed chewing gum in order to not have dryness. I've been to urgent care and the doctor. If anxiety really is the case, how long would this last? I'm losing hope here.

Thanks for your response. I'm just not sure what else it could be. My mother is a type 2 diabetic and my father has had a thyroid issue. I'm hoping one of those 2 pop up. I'm freaking out otherwise. I've also lost 7 pounds in 7 days. Which makes no sense at all for me. But it lines up with HIV symptoms. Oh man...I'm trying, I really am.

Hello

"Yada, yada, yada" is correct.   You are freaking out excessively.  The answer to your question is: no they don't sound HIV related.  In fact they don't sound anything STD related.

The chance that you were infected with an STD is low.  Take your negative chlamydia and gonorrhea tests as conclusive.  Let's stay that way.

I sense your anxiety, so I'll try to help you.  But after this any other posts about HIV should be put up in the HIV community forum.   The chance that you got that from your exposure is really really low.

Relax.
