It is estimated that 3 in every 4 people in the us are infected with HPV. It has no signs or symptoms most of the time, and the low risk strains can cause genital warts, while the high risk can cause cervical cancer. Often the virus will clear up on its own, that is why its important for women who are sexually active or diagnosed with HPV to get pap smears, to make sure that there are no cancerous cells in the cervix, also if they have warts, to get seen for testing and wart removal. But remember, most people never have symptoms and as far as I know there is no testing for HPV in males. HPV of the genitals is caused by genital to genital contact (area around genitals as well) and can be transmitted even if wearing a condom. Most people who have had multiple sexual partners have this std. It is one of the most common stds. Yes, I believe it is possible to transmit HPV through oral sex, but highly unlikely.
If you got HPV you would have had an outbreak by now. I would not worry about it.
