HPV?

Dear doctor please help,
I got raped a year ago and got tested for STDs right after the fact. Now I have developed 4 genital warts within 2 days. I was told that genital warts are linked to HPV is this right? My next question is I haven't had a sexual partner besides that guy up until two months ago? So if I do have it who did I get it from? I have been bleeding during intercourse and haveing sex hurts but I had linked it to my endometriosis. I am a very complicated case and already have a high chance of not being able to carry a child to term. Will this increase that chance?

I am sorry to hear you are going through all this.

You asked, " My next question is I haven't had a sexual partner besides that guy up until two months ago? So if I do have it who did I get it from?"
Both are equally likely risks; its hard to say if whom or if one individual was the
             source of your infection.

Yes I'm on the pill for now my doctor wants to put me into menopause for 6 months. She said that it will help for 5 years with the endometriosis.

My test results came back and I do have HPV but I have 3 strands of it one of them caused the worts but more devastating news the other two cause cancer and I have pre cervical cancer. Tomorrow I find out how bad it is and if it get upgraded to full cancer.

My immune system has also been compromised because I'm fighting 4 infections at once in different areas of my body. I was getting transfusions until they found the pre cancer cells and have stopped it so the cancer doesn't feed on the fresh cells. I am very very sick. I hate the stupid ******* that did this to me.

yes, genital warts are due to hpv. There are over 130 different types of hpv, 30 of which commonly infect the genital area. of those types that infect the genital area, some cause external warts and some cause infections on the cervix/penis.

genital warts are a cosmetic issue only. You can have them removed by your provider or you can try something like aldara cream for a few months to see if that helps. No way to know if you contracted hpv from your rape or from your current partner.

You also should make sure that you had proper follow up for std testing after your rape. you have to wait 3 months after the incident for hiv and herpes testing.

are you on the pill for your endo?
