Had Infection self medicated took ciprofloxcan

Back in December my testicles began to have a sharp pain once in awhile but didn't happen all the time. The pain of testicle went away for awhile then my left groin swelled up which at times was painful. I didn't go to the doctors. Then my right groin swelled up and eventually my testicles swelled up. It didnt hurt to pee. Plus no pus or discharge came out of my penis. I did have unprotected sex with a female in October. I self-medicated myself with ciperfloxacin hcl which right away took the swelling away in my groins and testicles. I did go see an urologist after taking ciperfloxacin hcl. The urologist didn't think I had an std plus my urine was tested for an infection and came up clean. I was sent to have an ultra-sound done on my testicles. They came up fine. Can anyone give me their input on what i could have had? Could this have been a std?

I don't know much medication info, even if I did we don't give out that info here. But I know certain medication can cure several things, non-STD related.

Impossible to know since you medicated before seeing anyone and before testing.
