I realized that I have asked a lot of questions on here, but I feel that on this site, I have gotten the best advice and the most patience and understanding, especially from Grace and quite a few. It is almost by a two weeks to the date a year that I had gotten diagnosed with hsv 1 and negative on hsv 2. Since then I have slipped into depression, lost the person I acquired it from and found someone new. But my fears and self disgust I guess you would call it is keeping me from being comfortable with him. It is at a point with him and I that he is ready to be intimate, while I want to and am very skittish. I know that I have to have that "talk" with him, but the settings have not been right. he always wants to go out and do things and I feel that telling him is something that I should do with us being alone. I have also noticed that I have been scared that I might have other things to.. My main one was hiv. I had once read an article that stated that with herpes and bv it made you more susceptible to hiv. I have since tested four times and been negative ever since. However him and I have played a little, and by play I mean him fingering and I have given him oral sex.. I trusted him at the time and really feel like he is safe. I have had a post on her about giving oral sex with ejaculation if there is risk for hiv and got told i was not at risk. I am relieved. I am so tired of being so scared all the time and worrying do I have this and do I have that. I have been tested at the health department for Syphillis, Gonorrhea, chlamydia, hiv and herpes before, but I understand that hsv 1 does not get detected in blood tests, so now i know why i tested negative twice before. I tested negative for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and Hiv, but can't remember my results for syphills, but this testing has been years back and i have not been active since. Am I right by thinking that if I had Syphillis that it would have appeared by now? Would I have been sicker? Should I worry? I am so sorry that this is yet another question and is so long, but I am worried. Thank you again for your patience and hope to hear your opinions soon.

you need to be seen tomorrow and get a proper exam done to find out what is going on. No need to post in forums for people to guess while you suffer - be seen and get accurate answers!
Hello grace. I know this may be in the wrong forum. Buy maybe you could help me. It is not herpes related. I am having pain in my lower abdomen in the hip area going into the hairline of the vaginal area on the left side only. It hurts for me to move. Or lay flat. Hurts if I press on it with my hands and also I noticed when I urinate. It doesn't burn but its a pressure type pain. I am thinking it can be a pulled muscle or uti. But am concerned. Any ideas if not can you suggest which forum to post this too? Thank u.

So the hsv 1 which is what I have is more contagious and sheds more? I thought it shed less...will see dermatologist about skin and pick up some culturelle thank u
if the rash on the thigh isn't better in a week, perhaps a dermatologist is the best next step. If you are having yeast issues that extensive, perhaps also pick up some culturelle at the drugstore/walmart etc. take it 2x/day to restore your "good" bowel bacteria that was destroyed with the antibiotics to get your whole body back on track. It has such good research behind it, we use it in hospitals even.
I've been turned down twice in over 25 years because of my genital herpes and both were germaphobes. It happens. Ironically both of them had hsv1 which despite my telling them sheds more than my hsv2 and is more contagious to others, still wasn't enough to convince them. oh well you win some, you lose some is the way I look at it. When someone runs, for whatever reason, you lick your wounds and get on with life - doesn't matter if it's because you told them you have herpes or if it's because they decide there is something else about you that they aren't able to deal with. I think the negative connotations society has put on all std's just makes it easier to blame herpes and feel bad about yourself needlessly. Always have bounced back and found someone who didn't care about my herpes after I was turned down specifically because of it :) My current bf never even knew he had hsv2 until he got tested. He was a bit surprised to say the least!

Hello again, I have one more question. I had went to the doctor to see her about the rash on my back and the yeast infection. I have also developed some thrush on my tongue due to the clindamycin I was taking for my abscessed wisdom teeth removal a week ago. She stated that like I suspected it was due to the clindamycin antibiotic I was taking and that the rash on the back of my neck was either yeast or contact dermititis. Needless to say the medication she gave me for the yeast is working and it is going away and there is far less inflamation and irritation and itchiness. I do however have a rash on the same part of my thigh where i have my outbreak. I am wondering if this is an outbreak or if this is due to the yeast. I have showed this to the doctor and asked her if she thought it was an outbreak and she said no its not , she thinks that it is due to the yeast infection as well. Can a bad yeast infection cause this rash with slight bit discoloration?

no reason to think hiv is why you have been getting vaginitis. as I said, it's a girl thing as much as anything.
it's hard to trust someone and form an intimate relationship with them, especially once you have been burned. it's why we recommend full std testing before sex, less surprises later.

I am actuallly feeling like i am ok now that i know i have hsv 1, but its when other things arrive and any symptom i feel i get paranoid. I was never like this until i found out i had hsv 1. Since then i feel i have become a hypochondriac always assuming the worst and i try to fight those feelings back but find it hard. The guy that i got the hsv 1 from that i was with for so long left me and then contacted me and apologized for being a jerk, but admitted that he messed around with different woman he met at different ports he pulled into as he was in the military. He admitted to going and paying for sex... He had this attitude about it to when he says he preferred it unprotected as he doesnt like the way the condom feels and that he is healthy and wouldn't catch anything, but i feel like i have to worry about every single thing because he was not totally honest with me.. I know you are not a therapist and to get these thoughts out of my head i really need to see one, but you are comforting.
I was shocked that this time around was actually not bv and the yeast infection like i have suspected. the last treatment for it was last month and the doc told me not to use soaps inside my vagina just to rinse. I have stopped using soap and it wasnt as bad but now the yeast. The doctors paperwork that she gave me when i seen her yesterday stated that if the yeast infection recurrs for 2 months or more with treatment that it may be early signs of HIV.. I was just wondering if that is the same with BV recurriing 4 times. I have been tested for HIV through the oraquick rapid testing by drop of blood from the finger and tested negative all three times this year. I have also looked into the accuracy of that test and even asked a doctor and was told that the accuracy rate was 99.98% accurate. However I am still paranoid somewhat about it especially with not being able to keep the bv away.. and now due to this medicine i have the rash on the back of neck only and yeast infections in my mouth and vaginal area with irritation and swelling of the cervix. I also have been having diarrhea yesterday as well. I don't know if this is from eating soup all week due to having teeth pulled or something worse. I just want to catch what ever it could possibly be early so that I can treat it. I appreciate your patience with me and thanks again.
bv is usually from an alteration in the ph of the vagina that allows bacteria to overgrow. it's not unusual for it to come back :( I hate bv far more than I could ever hate my herpes believe it or not!!

if you have yeast in the oral and genital areas, in addition to the antifungal you were given , I recommend picking up a gi probiotic like culturelle. You can find it at most drug stores, walmarts etc. It replaces the "good" bacteria in your bowels so that you can better fight off overgrowth of the "bad" stuff like yeast. culturelle has so much research behind it to show it works that we even use it in hospitals. take it 2x/day for a week or two to help your body fight off the damage caused by antibiotic use.
if you continue to get vaginitis easily, either yeast or bv, I've had good luck with fem dophilus by jarrow. you can find it cheapest on amazon. just store it in the fridge once you get it. you take it daily and it replaces the "good" bacteria in the urogenital tract of females to help ward off vaginitis. it helped me lick a 4 year battle with bv!!

Hello Grace, I have a question and this in in regards to BV, not the herpes or anything else. I was just wondering what causes the BV to come back after repeated treatment. I have been treated four times for this and three times it has come back, now I have a yeast infection from an antibiotic i was taking for abcess teeth. I went to doctor today and have the yeast on my tongue and personal area. I was just wondering if BV is capable of coming back with so much treatment and what does it mean if it does..
what did you think of the questions i asked about syphilis, i cannot remember my results so what do you thing in regards to those questions
I know that hsv 1 is common but my concern now is that i dont remember my syphillis results .. should i be worried about that.
thanks again, and i know that they did test me, i just don' t remember the results.. that was four years ago... do you think that i would have to worry about it since i have not had anything but the hsv 1 show up.
