How Long After Gardasil9 Shot 3 is Unprotected Sex OK?

Hello auntiejesdie et al...

My simple Google search didn't yield the info I am looking for so I thought this would be a good place to ask.

My partner got her third and final Gardasil9 shot today. Given what I read that shot 1 takes about two weeks for antibodies to develop, and shots 2 & 3 are really boosters for the first, what would your recommendation be for how long to wait before ditching the condoms? Should I just wait two weeks? Should we even ditch them? I just had a major anxiety episode resulting in a wart breakout that I treated last week with cryotherapy, and given it's not subsided yet, there's that to consider. I'd hate to have a rare set of two or more breakouts right as she's getting her third shot. I trust the science, but don't want to push its boundaries.

What do you think?

Thanks!

I'm sorry, too.  If I could get rid of just one, it'd be anxiety. Although, if I got rid of that, I'd not be having anxiety induced break outs so win win.

My last biopsy said 6 and 11 so I don't know if it was a generic test for either/or or if it detected both. Not sure how that'd happen from a single lesion.

My wife, whom I am separated from, never had abnormal cells until after we had unprotected sex after we got married and she had 16 and/or 18. I can't remember if it was either or both. Long story short, I either have 2 or 4 strains. Regardless, they're all covered by the vaccine, thankfully.

My partner seems uninfected from the past, and got vaccinated just so we could ditch the condoms. That sounds great to me, but want to make sure I'm being cool with her sexual health first and foremost.

Luckily for me, honesty about having fairly severe general anxiety and HPV doesn't seem to be scaring away quality ladies so that's good. Still, I'm about ready to join a monastery and just meditate the rest of my life. Thanks for helping me out! Your genuine and helpful nature are a blessing.

Honestly, I've never been able to really understand the HPV results. I've never talked to anyone who can give me an explanation that makes me understand either. Like you, I don't understand if it's an and/or - does someone have 6 AND 11? Or? Very frustrating.

I think it's up to you all at this point when you ditch the condoms. I'd wait until you skin is healed, at least. After that, it's when you both feel comfortable.

And you are attracting quality ladies because of your honesty. It's a very attractive quality in a man, and rare. Smart women know there's a lot of HPV out there, as well as a lot of men with anxiety. There aren't many who are honest and will talk about the tough stuff. Those are points in your favor. :)

You're welcome, and thanks for the kind words.

I can't find it now, but I remember reading two weeks as well.

What strain do you have? Do you know? Is it one that's protected by Gardasil? Since you just had an breakout, I'd maybe wait a few more weeks.

Dave, I am really sorry you deal with this. It seems just really unfair. :(
