If my partner has chlamydia, is he cheating?

Me and my partner have been dating for 10 months and he just now told me he found out about him having chlamydia. He says he got it from the girl he dated before me, and i want to give him the benefit of the doubt because he told me the girl he was dating before had it way before he told me to get checked. However, when he first told me she had it, he said he didn't. But now he is saying he never got checked and said he got it from her. I have had no symptoms down there the whole time we have been dating and i feel like if he had it from the jump like he said i would have. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but i have to know. Is he cheating?

Also if he had chlamydia over 10 month ago it would have cleared up by his bodies natural immune system about  month or so later so saying he got chlamydia over ten month ago and is mentioning to you now he has it to me is questionable. i ask you about how he tested as sometimes there are false positives.

Hi this is a difficult question. But i will say that if he had chlamydia he would see a doctors help about 5 days after infection as is quite an unbearable std as causes big time itching inside the penis and a white puss discharge and burning while urinating. Some cites say that it can go undetected but this is more for women as can lay inside the vaginal area but if it got inside your urethra you would have the same symptoms about 5 days later.
Men dont have a vaginal opening so it infects the urethra and in my experience would most certainly show symptoms.
How did he test positive?
