Is std testing 100% accurate?

I have recently been tested for a battery of stds, including HIV/AIDS. I have not received the results yet. My Doctor said that the results are not absolute. Now what should I think? I have not been sexually active for 12 years, and have never shown any outward sign of any kind of outbreak, or discharge. I'm 54 yrs old and have had 4 partners between 1985 and 1997.

Thanks for the response, I will. It's been a week now, so I hope to hear from the Doc soon.

You have not had sex since 1997 and your testing now for all STD's and HIV...your tests are 100% conclusive. No clue why your Dr thinks they would not be.
Ask him and come back here and let us know what he says as to why not absolute.
