Is this an oral std or something like strep?!

Hello. I am a teenage girl, and I had unprotected oral sex with my boyfriend a two days ago. He claims he doesn't have any stds, but I cannot be positive. There was no ejaculation, and his penis was clear of any lesions. He is my first and we haven't had sex through penetration. I performed oral for about 15 minutes. The next day my throat was sore, and I realized I had red spots on my soft palate. I've been doing research and looking at images. There's is no puss, nor white bumps. My throat pain is mild, but I also have a headache and fatigue. I am freaking out! I'm scared to go to the doctor and find out some bad news. My sister was recently sick with strep, and I feel it is a possibility I may have it. I'm not exactly sure what my chances of contracting an std. Can you please help? What should I do? Should I be worried?

Hello,

Please use protection for all sexual activity, even oral as oral cancer from HPV is a very real possibility.

Also, Please be assertive and don't do ANYTHING you don't want to do for ANY reason.  Also, too many guys like to get off without giving you pleasure, so look out for yourself as you start this sexual journey.  Only deal with guys who are selfless lovers for your own sake.

Best wishes!

Hi, if he did not have any penis shaft sores you can rule out syphilis as needs direct rubbing with an active chancre sore also chlamydia is not know to be passed through oral sex, also if he had gono he would not allow you to give him oral sex as the pain would be to much as is a urethra infection and quite painful so you can rule that out also for the most part. You should not be worried and no testing would be recommended unless you develop a sore throat about a week later. and since no std shows symptoms within 2 days the sore throat you have now is most likely from your sisters strep.

Oral sex exposes you to syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia. You should test for those ones three weeks after the exposure.
