Lump, urethra

Hello I am a male, I had unprotected sex with a new partner on January 19th.  About 2-3 days later I woke up to a very small but hard knot so to speak, at the opening to my urethra.  It was not painful or noticeable by eye, but I could feel it with my finger and it felt like it had some type of substance inside.  My initial thought was herpes.  I have scheduled an apt but that's not for a few more weeks.

Since then it has slowly grown and become more bothersome.  Seven days later, As of today it is now noticeable as a colorless lump, a little bigger and slightly more firm.  Their is a little more pain associated with it as well.  I also now have the infamous buring while peeing, due to the fact it's right at the opening of my penis.  Should I be expecting a sore that "explodes"?  I have no tingle sensation and it's not really red, it more or less looks like it's under the skin.

Nothing is going to "explode" so don't worry about that. This doesn't sound like a herpes outbreak but you're doing the right thing by getting it checked out. Do you know if your partner has recently been checked for STDs? Can you not get an appointment sooner thank a few weeks away?

Thanks.  I have been trying to avoid irritating it.  I'm confused though, it stopped growing.  It almost feels like a small vein or lump under the skin that moves around.  It is a little painful, though I can't really see it unless I get an erection or feel for it.  Still trying to get an earlier appointment.  It's still about the size of a pin head.  I also looked in the opening to my uretha and see a very small purple bump, no pain or itching almost looks like a vein.

if you are still checking this out all the time and poking and prodding, stop doing so too. sometimes you just further irritate things by doing so.

when to test for what is listed in our read before posting post on the forum too. since you had unprotected sex, you need to follow up with the right testing at the right times too.

Trying to get an earlier appointment.  All I can think of is warts, hoping to get in this week.  She has not been tested recently.

It's about the size of a pin head now, and just feels like a knot.  It's not a lump on the skin.  I can see a lump if I pull down on my skin, right on top of the head of my penis.
