Meatus Irritaiton

Two weeks ago I received oral sex from a woman I am seeing. She was screened for all STD's three months ago, and all negative. When I got home that night, I noticed some bruising around the tip of my penis. It did not hurt, but of course, I freaked out. It went away in about four days.

But just a couple of days ago, I have begun to have some irritation in the same area. My meatus has been "irritated" looking for many years now, and I have become OK with that. It does not hurt when I urinate nor is there discharge. What could this be? It really only bothers me when the tip of my penis rubs up against my underwear. Thank you for your help.

Hi, well obviouly your tip is very senitive to friction. I would suggest a fungal infection but since youve had it so long i would rule that out. Are you circumsized?

Yes I am. My mother is a nurse, and I had talked with her last night. The redness has been there a long time, but the "irritation" just started. More or less, I'm saying it as physically given me some pain for a couple of days.

She told me if I wasn't having discharge, etc etc, try to put some of the desitin (spelling?) cream on it like you would for a diaper rash or rash from exercising. The pain has tremendously decreased. Perhaps it was just friction from exercise the other day or something.

Also im not saying a person cannot have a skin bacerial infection but those that do acquire them almost always have a break in the skin for the bacteria to infect otherwise our natural healthy skin would protect us from them. But bottom line is that your feeling better what ever the cause is.

Your issue has been with an infamed meatus an that cannot a bacterial infection as is a topical issue thats why i mentioned fungal. We would call things that infect the inside of your urethra from oral sex as Gono or NSU or UTI (urinary track infection) and yes they can be in someones mouth and also saliva as bacteria common in the mouth are not common inside the penis. So im not sure what your talking about with the antibiotics.

It was a bacterial infection. I'm on antibiotics and seeing progress. Bacteria can definitely hide in the throat! I think many men dealing with this have not tried other antibiotics. My doctor said he saw a gentleman recently with the same problem and had to use two different kinds of antibiotics. Then the guy was healed. It doesn't just have to be Gonorrhea or Chlamydia to be a bacterial infection.

Well if you had catheter that could certainly cause an injury

The pain comes and goes. Yesterday there was almost none. Today it is a dull pain when touching my underpants. This has been going on for three weeks, and I'm really just thinking about going in to see my doctor now. Maybe it is bacteria related.
Going into my doctor tomorrow to see what is going on.

The redness really has not gone away at all. Whenever my clothes are loose, it seems to feel OK. Not really sure what is going on.

Also, I'd like to add that I had surgery back in December and it took three times to successfully get a catheter in... Pretty sure that left some scarring/redness permanently around that area, unfortunately.
