Mouth swelling

Exposed to HSV 1&2 two weeks ago, been on Doxycycline for 10 days and Valtrex for 5 days. About noon yesterday, my lips started to swell, inside mouth flesh too, looks red and irritated. Is this par for herpes BO?

One note, after reading online, learned pineapple could cause some issues. I did eat pineapple about 7 AM yesterday morning and it burned like crazy, never experienced that before.

Wondering what's happening?

Thanks

Was felling a little better on day 15 after exposure, stopped taking Valtrex, now starting day 18 not feeling as good, no noticeable rash and no blistering.

Energy level dropped, very fatigue, can't sleep, no appetite, slight sensation in penis, uretha seems hard. Glands swollen in groin area! Very tender.

Had the same symptoms before taking Valrex, seemed to all go away while on the medication. Is this telling me I have some virus in my system that the Valtrex knocked down?

Started medication for thrush, hope this clears up too.

New : last night arms and hands start painful tingling/burning, couldn't sleep, sore throat, my glands are swollen and hurt is this starting a breakout? Can't feel much worse.should I start the Valtrex again?

Thanks for reply

I would think this could still be a yeast infection; "white spots" aren't necessarily present.  And if yeast, a steroid injection wouldn't be expected to help very much -- if that's what it is, you'll probably need an anti-yeast treatment like fluconazole.

Follow-up with the doc who prescribed the doxycycline, but beyond that this forum really can't help any further.  Good luck with it.

Visit Urgent Care yesterday, doc wasn't sure, didn't mention yeast infection, only reaction to something I ate. Received steroid shot, which doc said should reduce swelling, it has done nothing.

There is no white spotting in mouth or on lips, could sit still be yeast infection as one mentioned in earlier thread, due to two weeks of Doxycycline?

Thanks for response.

Mouth has no white spots, could it still be yeast?

I'll follow up with doc tomorrow.

Thanks for responding!

If yeast, stopping the drug won't make any quick difference.  A sore throat mouthwash or lozenge might help a little.  Benadryl probably won't help, but might make you sleepy -- be careful if you need to drive.

Stopped Doxycycline yesterday, taking Benadryl, every 6 hours no improvement.

Anything I can try till I can see doctor tomorrow?

Thanks Howard, I did leave out some details, I'm a bit overwhelmed.

I really appreciate responses, no one else to talk with, nice to have someone to answer questions.

Thanks

You provide information here that you didn't mention in the herpes forum. You might have an oral yeast infection triggered by the doxycycline. Stop taking it immediately and see the doc who prescribed it.
