Mycoplasma Genitalium

I had multiple unprotected oral sex exposures between 28th Feb and 6th Mar with CSWs in Thailand (Vaginal sex was always condom protected). Three days ago I had a full STD screening done wherein I gave a urine sample and a throat swab. Yesterday I gave blood samples for early detection STD tests using RNA PCR.

My urine and throat swab PCR test results came back yesterday. I'm clear of Gonnorrhea and Clamydia however I tested positive for Mycoplasma Hominis and Mycoplasma Genitalium. I thought these couldn't be acquired by oral sex but I guess they can. I'm now under treatment with Clarithromycin 250mg twice a day for 7 days.

I'm awaiting blood test results.

My questions are:
1) Howcome I caught MG through oral sex?
2) Are there chances of other STDs?
3) Does MG increase risk of HIV? I'm awaiting PCR RNA results for HIV - very scared about this
4) Is MG fully treatable? Am I on right course of treatment?

mg is not spread thru oral sex.i think u have a prostate infection, prostatitis.strep cells etc lead to that conclusion,go see a urologist explain your history and get the prostate fluid examined under a microscope,it thats the source it can be dealt with using IM injection over 5 days, depending on the pathogen will depend on which drug they use, ganamycin could well do it,do you have a high RBC count in urine exam?thats indicative

How did you go. Did you beat it?

Yes. I've had shooting pain inside the penis for 3 months now. Pain gets suppressed with Azithromycin but comes back within a week thereafter. Levofloxacin didn't help with the pain.

Did you have any symptoms that made you get checked?

So I decided not to go with Moxi yet. Took Azithromycin 500 mg for 6 days. Doc put me on a combination with Doxy 100 mg twice a day but I had a reaction to Doxy so I only stuck with Azithromycin. My urine analysis showed moderate growth of Strep Group B as well. Doc said that the co infection with strep group B could be the reason for treatment failure against MG. So I've started a Nitrofurantoin course for 7 days 100 mg twice a day for Strep Group B. Symptoms are better but not fully resolved after Azithromycin. Will retest after 3 weeks and update. BTW I I'm sure I never had any STD before. There was no apparent condom failure. This makes me infer that MG can be passed on orally.

I took a 14 day course of Clarithromycin but the symptoms persisted and then got worse. I was thereafter diagnosed with a prostate infection of some sort as I had high wbc count in a semen analysis. Urologist put me on 28 days of levofloxacin assuring me that MG was not the cause. Symptoms improved but did not fully go away. I just took another PCR test for MG and it has come back positive again!!!!!! I don't know what line of treatment to follow to get rid of it. Doc is advising Moxi for 7 days. On medhelp and online I've read reports of Moxi failure. One guy posted on medhelp that Moxi + Rifampicin combo worked for him. Should I take this libe of treatment?

1. Maybe you had a condom failure. I have researched mg a lot and have come to the same conclusions as you. My is generally not transmitted via oral sex.
2. Oral sex carries risks of ngu and gonorrhoea. Others can happen but rarely
3. Don't know
4. Aizthrmycin 1g followed by 4 days of 250mg.
Let us know how you get on. Also, you sure my was diagnosed? You may have had it a long time and was asymptotic
