Mycoplasma genitalium

MG.. unable to find a lot regarding female symptoms.
Back in March of this year I thought I had gonorrhea; went to my GP and was turned over to a Health Nurse. Was tested for Everything.
My symptoms: SEVERE burning while urinating, swollen groin lymph nodes, clogged sex glands(with it's own nasty symptoms), Everything 'down there' outside my vagina was swollen(to sit on a chair with padding was even Extremely painful), the inside of my vagina was in pain, I had a Constant Watery Drip form my vagina...
I had to wait two weeks for my test results to come back so in the meantime I was put on Doxycycline. That covered gonorrhea, chlamydia, and a bladder infection.
But my results came back and everything was negative.
I had finished my course of antibiotics and seemed to be fine.
The Health Nurse informed my that I probably had had mycoplasma genitalium, that and a bladder infection.
We shook hands 'good-bye' and that was that. I thought I was cured.
That was in MD. Since then I have moved out to IN.
In the meantime, my joints have started aching Very badly(shoulder, hips and knees). This started shortly after starting the Doxy and I assumed it was a side effect and that it would go away. It's gotten Much Worse. The pain is so horrible it keeps me awake at night.
Then, about 4 days ago, my original symptoms start coming back.
Please note, the sexual encounter back in Feb of this year that started all this horribleness, I have Done NOTHNG since. So it's impossible that this is from something 'new.'
I am freaking out. What I have read about MG and its resistance to antibiotics has got me terrified that I will be living the rest of my life with this infection.
Have a new doctor, gave them my history and was given a Five-day Zpack.
If my symptoms persist after the Zpack my doc told me I would be given a course of 2 different types of antibiotics to take at the same time. I wanted to do this but my doc wanted to try the Zpack first.
So, I've taken my fist's day's dose.
Are there any other females out there with a similar experience?? With my list of symptoms?? Were you 'cured?' And if so, what worked and for how long have you been symptom free??

The Infectious Disease Specialist was a HUGE Disappointment!!!!
He was not at all knowledgeable.
Informed me that I probably had had BV(which I have suffered from one time in the past; totally different from my current situation).
Told me also that b/c of the antibiotics I had already taken that what ever I had had was certainly gone now. that mycoplasma was not a resilient bacteria. it was not resistant to antibiotics.
I have tears of frustration and anger as I write this; I feel so misunderstood. have read what others have gone through and are going through, and know that I am not alone in these feelings..
my symptoms are gone, but it has only been 6 days.
so worried that I will have to come to terms with the fact that I am a 'carrier' of an STI...

oh, forgot to mention, the Infectious Disease Specialist totally dismissed me. told me I was fine and that I had nothing to worry about. didn't want to swab me or take blood, told me that even if I had had MG that the test would come back as positive because of the antibodies and there was no reason to test me for it. dismissed all my concerns with a wave of his hand; noted that I was BRAC2(had had a mastectomy and oophorectomy) and wanted to talk about that!!!!!

The Zpack did not work. My symptoms came back within 3 days of the antibiotic being out of my system.
So I started a 14 day cycle of Avelox. I finished the antibiotic on August 14, 2015. So far, my symptoms have yet to return. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
In two days I have an appointment with an Infectious Disease Specialist. No matter what, I want to be tested for MG; I am hoping this guy can make it happen. Whether or not I ever had MG in the first place, I need to know that I don't have it now. Whatever I had, it was bad. And I hope it is gone.
Moreover, I forgot to mention above, besides my joint pain, I also had a VERY itchy rash on my neck, back and torso.. that too is gone.

If can be resistant to some antibiotics but one of them (or a combination) will kill it!

Most people who post here get an answer and then go, so you are not going to find many other people who are still around who have delt with this. I wish I could give more info but I just don't know enough about MG. I have not heard of it being resistant to antibiotics though.
