PID and azithromycin for gonorrhea

Hi, I was treated yesterday night with 2 grams of azithromycin for gonorrhea (25 year old female). Didn't have any symptoms, but knew a sexual partner had it. Couldn't take the shot because of a bleeding problem I have. I have pain in my back today. Can this be associated with PID? I was exposed 10 days ago. Going for a follow up in 10 days to make sure the pills worked, should I worry before then? Or give the meds some time to work? I went to the clinic yesterday so I can't run off from work today to ask them. Thanks for any help.

We cant comment on meds but what you were prescribed is recommended by the CDC. I would advise a follow up swab or urine test to confirm.

Thank you. Do you think  the azithromycin will be an effective cure? Especially if I had no symptoms? After going to the clinic, I did more research and saw that azithromycin is usually provided in conjunction with another oral antibiotic if I can't get the injection...

Hi, PID does not happen that quickly but takes weeks if not month to develop.
