Possible Trichomonas

About four months ago I had sex, the next day I had burning after urination. No discharge, just burning, it lasts pretty much all day, with certain anti-biotic's I get some pain relief and sometimes it goes away but it usually comes back. I was tested for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia only with a swab test. Had I known it was only those two I would've gotten a much more detailed test. I have urethritis for sure the urologists saw that when he looked inside. He also diagnosed me with chronic prostatitis. I am currently on doxycycline because I was having some pain relief but it only worked for a few weeks now the pain is starting to come back to its normal strength of irritation.

Is it possible to be trichomonas? It is known to cause both urethritis/prostatitis in males. I just feel at the age of 22 that its too early in my life to have prostatitis.

One day is too early for symptoms of an STD to appear - they take at least a couple of days.  If you are concerned about STD, you could get a full screen to rule that out.  Testing for trich is harder in men than in women.  I'm unsure of a connection between trich and prostatitis (or any STDs for that matter) - however, I do know that chronic prostatitis can have a variety of causes, many non-bacterial.  I would seeing your doctor again regarding your chronic burning/pain and get a second opinion if you are not satisfied with your treatment.

What I mean by too early in my life to have prostatitis is that I never had problems with my prostate and for prostate issues to come up one day after sex I find to be odd.
