Red bump on penis

Hello,
About a week and a half ago, (10-11 days) I went running out for about 4 miles in 50 degree weather. I didn't wear anything under my regular running shorts because it feels too constricting sometimes and I've never had a problem with it before. Once i got back, I hopped in the shower and noticed my groin area was very red and felt very hot. In addition, I noticed a red bump near the base of my penis which had not been there before that run or even that day (to the best of my memory). Within a day, the rash was gone but the red bump still remains. The red bump does not itch, it does not burn, and it does not break open and heal itself over like herpes which leads me to believe I don't have an STD but I know its possible to not feel any pain sometimes and still have one.

I've looked online for what it could be and I believe that the rash I experienced after running was a heat rash and I know its possible to get pimples that are sometimes nicknamed "sweat bubbles" in addition to heat rashes, which is what I think my bump is because I do sweat more than the average male. The bump doesn't get any bigger, it doesn't itch, it doesn't burn, it doesn't open up and scab over, it just sits there. Will it go away on its own or do I need too apply some kind of lotion/cream to it? Thank you.

the best thing to do is to be seen and have this looked at. I agree, it doesn't sound like a std.

I should also mention that there is hair around the bump, which I guess could add the possibility of folliculitis
