Red spots

Dear Doctor,

I am a 36 yr old male living in India. I had had a risky sexual encounter with a girl of unknow status around one year back. She was not a sex worker though. There after I got the following tests done -

a) HIV (six tests ELISA and DNA PCR across 9 months) - the last one one was a ELISA at 9 months from exposure - The result was negative (Also I have not had any sex with any women during this period, not even my wife)
b) Syphillis - negative (at eight months)
c) Herpes - negative (at one year)

All tests were done at highly acclaimed labs with no reason to question quality. Inspite of these tests, I have red spots apprearing on my penis repeatedly. I have been checked by two GP's. The first one gave me a combination of medicines (including that for Herpes) - the problem finished. However, after a month or so the red spots returned and have been there, in one form or the other, for the last four months. My new GP dismissed these as allergy to something (maybe alcohol which I have everyday not much but is regular). He gave me skin creams like Candida, the spots would disappear in a week's time but would reappear after 15 days at a different spot. The last time I got these spots he asked me get a Herpes test done, which came back as negative. I must also mention that these spots are painless. I have one even as I write this mail, about a cm in size (just one) but rough edges. Not a very well defined circle. Has been there for three weeks, competely painless, keeps increasing or reducing in size, I have not applied anything to it. I have not taken it back to the GP, he has been at this for a good six months now and dismisses these as allergy (the last negative Herpes test been done already)

Also to mention, since I have not been having sex with my wife (for the fear that I might pass something to her) I do mastubate every day.

For the past one year I have been living in hell, believing that I have some deadly disease. I know that I have passed most of the deadly diseases tests but these spots don't let me forget the one mistake I made. Please help!

I can't advise you of what to use, as the names of medications are different in each country.  If you have a pharmacist there, you could ask there.

Yes I have, in the past they have helped. Just that the GP said not to use anything so I stopped. Candida gel is what I have been using, it kind of fades the spots and then after a while they reappear at a different location on the penis. Also once the spots disappear they leave a very faint mark (always visible) if observed minutely. That doesn't bother me so much as their re-appreance does.

What fungal cream do you suggest, if that's what you think it might be?

Thanks for your reply, appreciate it.

You do not have herpes, HIV or syphilis.  Your tests are negative, and your symptoms aren't at all similiar to those.

Perhaps you have some kind of fungal infection.  Have they ever tried any fungal medication for you?
