STD QUESTION!!
Ok, so I took metronidazole monday night, anyways......
My boyfriend took the same dosage as me, it has been 3 days since we took the meds, no intercourse (I am not going through this antibiotic crap again) Nasty lil pills!! We have Trich the std of course.
He wants to know when he can drink again, again took it at 6pm monday night and it is soon to be thursday. about 48 hours after the dose.
also, why did he not get side effects and I had a few bothersome ones??? weight?
I am 104 of average weight at 5'2" he is 6 foot 3 and most likely 200 at the most maybe 198?
why did the dr give us the 2000 MG dose and not the 7 day dose????
if the dr thought my weight wasnt high enough for that dosage would he still give it to me???

ah, yes...I am not having any side effects today, they all vanished over night!!

It is the recommended treatment. You just have to roll with this one. He was lucky enough to not get side effects. You were unfortunate to get some nasty ones. Even if they gave you the 7 day dose, you still may have had some effects. Maybe not as severe, but it's just the way your body reacts.
You remind me of my sister. You need to know the ins an outs and whys and hows of everything. There's nothing wrong with it, but you have to keep in mind that there isn't always an exact answer.

Thank you for the info, as for the er I asked when I was there and he said it was how they treated frikkin trich.
He can have some drinks now, like any medication it is never recommended to drink when taking it.
Why did he not get side effects??? Just the human body, some people don't have side effects some do. From this medication and every other medication for anything.
You would have to talk to your Dr on his/her treatment, I can't speculate why someone did something.
