STD or not?

3 weeks ago I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend. The night of intercourse, I shaved with an electric shaver. 2-3 days later, my scrotum area was itchy. I figured it was cause of shaving. I then noticed that i had redness on the top of my penis shaft. One spot was just below the head on the shaft where i usually hold it with my thumb while urinating. There was also another longer red spot on the top right side of my penis shaft where my palm usually rest if im holding it. The head of my penis looked a little more red and purple then normal, then again I rarely looked at it before then. A week after noticing this, i went to a doctor and he stated that it looked like the early stages of jock itch and stated it wasnt an STD. He did not notice the redness on my shaft. I do have athletes foot and have had it for a long time now. After seeing the doctor, i started using lotrimin on my scrotum and penis here and there. When i do have sex, my penis gets very sensitive and red. I dont have no blisters or sores. It doesnt burn when i urinate. My scrotum is moist and clammy, more then usual and it itches here and there. The penis shaft doesnt itch. Its just red and seems irritated and sensitive. Is it jock itch? Could it affect my penis shaft? Its been a little over 3 weeks now and i have read about all possible STD's and it doesnt seem like it could be any of them

no std causes ED.

ask for a referral to a dermatologist at this point.

well i went to the doctor. Second one since my issue. My PCP also stated it was jock itch. He did not notice any redness like i can see. I also told him about the irritation i get on the left side of my foreskin that comes and goes. He stated he sees nothing wrong and is not an STD. I used the recommended OTC treatments and it still dont seem to get any better. My penis feels clammy now as well and is still red as it was 2 months ago. I dont know how my PCP couldnt see it. I also been experiencing erection problems after this all started. Been hard to get and maintain an erection even after taking Cialis. Any more ideas?

one more thing. I noticed a tiny red pimple on the left side of my penis head. earlier today it wasnt there, then an hour later it was. could it be from the cream and spray ive been using. I have been putting the spray and cream on my penis head as well.

erection difficulties have nothing to do with std's.

typically female vaginitis issues are not transmitted to males.

One more question which may help. During and after intercourse, i noticed white stuff on my penis that resembled cottage cheese and like a fishy odor after i pulled out. From reading online, it sounds like a yeast infection. is that possible?

Don't know if you would have an answer for this, but is it possible that the lotrimin cream i used or even the tinactin spray I'm using now would irritate the skin on my shaft if i put it on it? i try no to put any on my shaft. i started to use cortizone-10 cream on the shaft instead. Most of the irritation i do get on my shaft is around the foreskin.

if you are prone to irritation, use lube. why make the lil guy suffer?

you both should seek out full std testing if you've not both had it done.  protect yourselves!!

odds are this is jock itch but you'll need to be seen for a proper diagnosis.

do you clean your razor regularly as they recommend?

Also, it feels a lot better after i take a shower and let it air out by just sitting around. the most i notice any irritation is while i work cause I'm sitting in a car all day and my uniform pants are a little tighter then regular pants.

We have not had tests. we've been together since February of this year. The only time i had itching was a day or two after i shaved on my scrotum. there's no sores, blisters, or lesions on my penis shaft. its just red. i don't have any discharge or burning sensation when i urinate and its been over 3 weeks since i noticed the redness. is it possible i could of got an infection from my electric shaver if it wasn't clean? We also do not use lubrication.

have you and your gf had full std testing prior to starting to have unprotected sex together?

not unusual when you have issues with fungus on one body part, to have it on multiple body parts. you can't just treat it here and there, it needs properly treated - apply the cream 2x/day every single day for a full week minimum.

if you are prone to fungal infections, read online about how to reduce them. change out of sweaty socks and underwear as soon as you can. go sockless and bottomless for sleep.  wear cotton that breathes better.  all sorts of other suggestions online.

do you use lube when you have sex to reduce irritation?
