STD or strange skin rash?

I recently had sex with a new partner, about two 1/2 weeks ago. We practiced safe sex at all times. Now my skin has broken out in a pox-like rash on my arms, my right shoulder, lower back, and between my thighs.

The rash is not painful or itchy at all. In each area there are one or two circles of dark dry skin, followed by a small red ring. Then there are smaller, lighter, patches spread out.  There is no mucus membrane or anything like that. It looks like a bad case of dry skin.

The worse place is between my thighs. Unlike the other places, there are much more "pox" like cirlces. It's dark, with no red rings, and dry and peeling a little. I put lotion on it to keep it moisterized.

I researched syphilis rashes and they dont look TOO similar. I don't have a chancre that I can see. I can provide a picture if neccessary. I'm going to schedule an appiontment on Monday, when the health office on my campus opens back up. I've stopped seeing this partner. I just wanted to know, does this sound like an STD?

Oh but make sure they do a syphilis test to rule that out, too.

This sounds more like ringworm than syphilis, and you need to get it checked SOON.
