STD risk - oral and protected vaginal with prostitutes

Hi

On a business trip to Asia I went to 2 prostitutes in Malaysia and one in Thailand. I feel so stupid about it and I'd never do it again now. It was all protected vaginal intercourse. However I got receptive oral sex from the 2 in Malaysia and I went down on one of the Malaysian ones. I am so worried about STD's as I have a long term partner (whom I've had unprotected sex with yesterday) at home whom I do not wish to pass anything on to. I have not got any genital symptoms (been about 1 week+ now) but I am worried about HIV/Syphilis risk which may not produce outward signs. I have had quite profuse diarrhoea for the last 2 days but not sure if that is related :S

Please let me know what you feel my risk is - I am planning to go to the STI clinic ASAP but I am wrought with anxiety. Please be honest with your answers - I know I have been foolish.

you can get a lot of testing done low cost/no cost at the local health department. you'll need to google the boston health department and see where any clinics are and make an appointment. they won't offer herpes igg blood testing there most likely though. you should be able to get chlamdyia, gonorrhea and ngu testing there though easily.

Thank you for that - I kind of need the reassurance that only an anonymous forum administrator can give! I will still check for bugs for my partner - I just wish I haven't passed anything onto her. I am flying to Boston, USA tomorrow for another long trip (3 weeks) - where can I get free testing?

I will post when I have had a initial STI screen of gon, chl and NSU, in case someone in a similar position is in trouble.

ps. Diarrhoea stopped this morning (pretty disgusting) - think it was something I ate.

this is low risk for std's in general. hiv is not a risk for you from this.

diarrhea isn't likely to have a std cause.  since you were recently out of country, give your doctor a call to see if you need to drop off some stool samples to check for infections.

in general we don't even recommend std testing from this but since there is another partner involved, covering the bases is never a bad idea to err on the side of caution.  you can get tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea and ngu anytime after 1 week post last encounter. Also ask for oral swabbing since you performed oral sex. you need to wait at least 6 weeks for syphilis testing. 3 months for hepatitis, herpes and hiv ( discuss with your doctor what testing you need, most of this was not a risk at all so up to you if you want to test for the whole shebang or not, I just provided the times to wait to do so if you do ).
