STD's - How long to show up on test?

Hi ,

Over the past 10 years I have seen roughly 30 prostitutes.  I have always engaged in safe vaginal sex but on occasion gave and received unprotected oral sex.  I want to get tested to see if I am clean, but want to wait until things will show up.  I am asymptomatic.  How long should I wait for an accurate negative diagnosis, and also, what are the chances I caught anything.

Thanks.

proper condom use means you aren't likely to have contracted any std at all.   you can contract std's from oral sex but the risk of such is very low. You've not had any symptoms so we don't even recommend testing just from unprotected oral.

When you say "peace of mind" testing, do you mean getting tested is not really that necessary?  I am still getting tested, I have an appointment for Monday.

we recommend protected sex because it works!

Your encounters have been low risk. If you need the peace of mind of testing, you can test for chlamydia, gonorrhea and ngu now. You need to wait another month for syphilis testing. 2 1/2 more months for herpes, hepatitis and hiv testing.

Sorry one more thing.  My last "exposure" was at the end of August 2011
